Strategic priorities
Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences’ strategic priorities for 2024-2025 included:
- Maintain the percentage of Grade 12 students attaining at least one CCMR indicator at 100 percent by May 2025.
- Maintain a high number of student and parent engagement activities during and outside of regular school hours, as evidenced by parent participation in 10 or more events by May 2025.
- Increase the TSI-met rate of 11th-grade students to 60 percent from 27 percent by May 2025.
- Care for the social and emotional wellbeing of all students.

The following list shows the roles and responsibilities of the joint Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences-Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus committee.
- Candace McGowan: TCC director of academic affairs, educational partnerships
- Acts as committee co-chair
- Jack Henson: TABS principal
- Acts as committee co-chair
- Latika Davis: TCC coordinator of dual credit
- Addresses front-line college obstacles for TABS students
- Fabian Hernandez: TCC senior office assistant
- Records meeting minutes and assists with logistics. Acts as communication liaison
- Angela Hall: TCC coordinator of health services
- Advocates for student health and safety and the integration of TABS students into TCC student life
- Imelda Dunlap: TABS assistant principal
- Oversees testing and textbooks and supervises students.
- Brian Wooddell: TABS post-secondary success specialist
- Recruits students, coordinates programs of study, organizes TSI testing and evaluates program effectiveness
- Tammy Asbury: TABS counselor to grades 11 and 12
- Oversees student schedules in partnership with TCC, monitors student success and advocates for students
- Sandra Muñoz: TABS counselor to grades 9 and 10
- Oversees student academic plans, monitors student success and advocates for students

The district's New Teacher Academy is an onboarding program for those new to the district. Find out more here.
Campus-based initiatives
September – May
New teachers will meet at least twice a month with their departments or those teaching in a similar content area in order to plan. This should allow the teacher to:
- Teach to the rigorous standards expected at TABS;
- Evaluate impact of instruction on student performance;
- Use student and classroom achievement data for planning and curriculum;
- Design instruction to meet specific learning needs; and
- Contribute to a positive school culture.
January – May
Once every three weeks—for a total of six observations—new teachers will be partnered with experienced teachers or staff leaders to observe peers and discuss best practices and strategies for the classroom.
