Applying to TCC

Students who already have TCC I.D. numbers
We know that many of our students already have a relationship with TCC, whether it be through a college-level course or a special program, such as College for Kids. If your student already has college credit for a TCC course, please contact TABS before completing this application. Otherwise, please complete the above application. TCC will merge any duplicate accounts later.
Step 1: Create a profile
The student—with parent or guardian assistance—should complete this application using his or her information.
Before start, ensure that you, the student, have the following:
- Personal (non-FWISD) email address
- Social Security Number (optional but recommended)
- Alien Registration Number (if applicable)
Begin by opening this link to the TCC application.
- Enter the required profile information. Use your full, legal name.
- The school's official name is "Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences."
- Enrollment information
- Academic level: "Undergraduate"
- Entry term: Select the fall semester of your first year at TABS.
- Admit type: "Dual Credit"
- Academic pathway: "Dual Credit/Early Collegiate High School/Concurrent High Sch"
- Academic program: "Dual Credit/Early Collegiate High School/Concurrent High Sch"
- Create and confirm your password
- Save the email address and password you're using to create your account. You'll need it later.
- Confirm that you're not a robot, then click "Create Account."
- Check the email account that you used to create your password and verify your email address.
Step 2: Complete the application
Once you've activated your account using the link in the email you received after Step 1, it's time to apply to TCC.
- Select "Create a New Application."
- Select "Start a new Undergraduate Application."
- Select "Start Your Application."
Personal information
- Most of this will already be filled out. Double-check the your personal information and fill out other important information, such as your date of birth and middle name (if you have one).
- Select "Save & Continue."
Demographics
- Select your citizenship status. Note: You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or legal resident to be accepted.
- Enter your Social Security Number. Note: This is not required for the application, but it is recommended.
- Enter your birth city
- Select your ethnicity (optional)
- Select "Save & Continue."
Residency
It is important that this section be completed correctly. Do not guess. Ask your parent or guardian if you have questions, and feel free to reach out to the TABS office if you need help.
- Are you a Texas Resident?
- Select "Yes" if you have lived in Texas for 12 consecutive months.
- Will you have lived in Texas all 12 months preceding the semester for which you are applying?
- Select "Yes" if you’ve lived in Texas a year.
- If you haven’t lived in Texas for a year, select "No."
- During the 12 months prior to the term for which you are applying, did you attend a public college or university in Texas in a fall or spring term (including summer)?
- Most students will select "No."
- If you have taken dual-credit courses with another college, select "Yes" and list the college or university attended.
- Did or will you graduate from high school or complete a high school equivalency in Texas?
- Select "Yes."
- Do you file your own federal income tax as an independent taxpayer?
- Select "No."
- Dependent: Are you claimed (or are you eligible to be claimed) as a dependent by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian?
- Select "Yes."
- Is your parent or guardian a U.S. Citizen? Note: U.S. citizenship is not required for admission.
- Select whichever answer applies to your parent or guardian and answer the following questions, if needed.
- Select "Save & Continue."

- Entry term: Choose the fall semester of this year.
- Admit type: "Dual Credit"

High school information
- Enter or confirm that you will attend Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences.
- Did or will you graduate from high school? "Yes."
- Graduation date: Select June 1 of the spring semester of your 12th-grade year.
- Colleges attended
- Most students will leave this blank
- If you have taken dual-credit courses at a school that isn't TCC, add the college(s) in which you were enrolled.
- If you have taken an OnRamps course, add UT-Austin.
- Select "Save & Continue."
Consent and submit
- Say "Yes" to all three questions.
- Type your full, legal name in the signature box.
- Click "Submit Application."
You will soon receive an acceptance notification in the email account you provided in your application. This will contain your TCC I.D. number and TCC email address, along with instructions on how to log in to TCC's online portal. As ever, check your junk folder if you don't receive anything.
Once you have received the student's I.D. number and email address, provide them to TABS using this form.
If you do not receive a TCC I.D. number within a week or so of applying, please log back in to the account here to ensure that the application was submitted successfully.
